Happy National Tempura Day!

Wow.  What an interesting food day to have, eh?  I am fairly fond of tempura, though in my old age I do tend to be getting more sensitive to fried foods.  Alas.  Nevertheless, every now and then I stop by Sake Cafe on Magazine Street and just can't resist.  I have been assured that there is no egg in the tempura batter here, as is sometimes the case.  So if you're in a vegetable tempura kind of mood, there you go!  Just remember to order it with ponzu sauce rather than the one it normally comes with (which has a fish base).
