Hello NOiG friends! I recently received a comment that I would like to address. The comment stated that Sake Cafe's ponzu sauce is made with beef broth. Of course I needed to check the veracity of this statement!
After speaking with a manager at Sake, I have determined the following:
the ponzu sauce is totally clean and worry-free
HOWEVER, the light sauce served with the veggie tempura (not ponzu, apparently) is made with fish sauce
There you have it folks. When ordering veggie tempura at Sake Cafe (previously confirmed to be sans-egg), ask for the ponzu sauce for dipping.
