Food Stories have begun at the Nola Food Co-Op! The first of a series of summer movie nights at the Co-Op was kicked off tonight with King Corn, a charming tale by two boys from Boston. They unravel for us the mystery of why there is not only corn in nearly every food product we purchase, but also in the very molecules of our hair. Weee!
Hosted by local nutritionist, food guru, and certified LEAP therapist Gary Granata, the night was a great success with a nice turnout. We did, in fact, eat popcorn - hey, it's the movies! - but also feasted on Gary's raw gazpacho, fresh seasonal produce, and home made limeade among other goodies.
Movie nights at the Co-Op will continue through July and possibly August, every second and fourth Tuesday of the month. The next event will be held on Tuesday, July 12 at 7pm, when we'll be watching Dirt! The Movie. See you then!
